Planning a trip to Spain and am wondering what else there is to see and
do in Bilbao besides the Guggenheim? We are art afficianodos and will
also be going to Madrid and Barcelona. Any specific districts that
abound with art galleries that i should know about?

You van visit the following places:

1. Celebrate Semana Grande (Aste Nagusia)
Concerts, fireworks, parades, bullfighting, Free performances, music, dancing, eating, and drinking: for nine nights, every August.

2. Get Artsy at the Guggenheim Museum
One of Bilbao’s newest and most internationally-renowned attractions. But don’t let it overshadow the city’s other museums like the Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao.

3. Admire the Architecture in the Casco Viejo
The oldest and perhaps prettiest part of the city. Stunning sights including the 15th century Santiago Cathedral and neo-classical Plaza Nueva are hard to miss.

4. Pile up the Pintxos
Before lunch and dinner, you’ll find bars offering a range of these tasty nibbles.

5. Bargain Hunt in Bolueta
If the designer shops on the Ensanche break your budget, and the boutiques in Casco Viejo stretch your savings, go here. Every Sunday you’ll find clothes, music and an assortment of bric-a-brac.
