Hi,
I would like to get some good recommendaions for a week's trip to
portugal. Some of the good places to visit, what to look out for, some
important cultural events to watch out for, best time to visit, best
food dishes etc etc... any info will be appreciated.

Really depends what you like, of course, but the country has an awful
lot to offer. I recently spent a week there for the first time, and
divided it between Lisbon and Lagos- so, city and beach. Lagos was quite
charming and Lisbon is a beautiful city with plenty to keep most people
occupied. Fish was very good in both places, a bit better in Lagos if
I'm nitpicking. Bacalhau is very good, obviously. I also liked the
hearty bean and meat (pork, usually) dishes. From the little I saw of
the country, it seems like a lovely place, with very nice people. I was
bothered by indoor smoke several times- don't know if that bothers you
or not though- I read while there that indoor smoking will be banned
soon. Hope so! |

There are so many things Portugal has to offer. Try visiting Gulbenkian Museum, Oceanario de Lisboa, Quinta Quads, and many more. You really can't get enough with Portugal.
