Angelina’s House is in the countryside on the hills separating Lucca from the coast of Versilia, only 10 minutes from the historical center. A very beautiful area with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape with picturesque ruins of medieval castles.
Angelina’s House is located in a ancient country house together with another apartment.
This small and cozy house still features its original structure: the bright entrance, the kitchen, a double bedroom and a bathroom.
Brick floors and ceiling with wooden beams are original and it is furnished with wooden furniture, conjugating the heat of the ancient country house to the modern comfort.
The house also features a private outside space, a parking area and a large garden with fruit trees where you can relax during the hot summer days.

INSIDE
The house is developed on the ground floor with a large view on the green hills which surrounding the village.
Composed by: a very bright entrance, a wooden kitchen equipped with all necessary, a bedroom with double bed with a spacious wardrobe and bathroom with shower and towel warmer.

THE VILLAGE
In addition to extreme natural landscape, Balbano reveals a history of major importance. The origin of the name dates back Balbano most likely to Roman times. It is assumed that derives from the word "Fundus Balbi." The first written document concerning the country is kept in the Archbishop of Lucca, where we read that on 25 June 980 the Bishop of Lucca swap some assets with some of Balbano Albon. More news you have from the end of the twelfth century when this Ubertello, lord of Aquila (a noble estate also included in the boundaries of the country) gave Lucca his castle in exchange for the Balbano.

SOURROUNDING The Casina lies in an ideal position and offers lots of possibilities for day, trips to the nearby Tuscan towns (Lucca at 7 kms, Pisa at 25 kms, Pietrasanta at 25 kms, Firenze at 70 kms), or to the beaches of Viareggio (20 Kms), which is an excellent choice also for the after, dinner thanks to many night clubs, pubs and the very popular boulevard.
Those who do not like driving by car but would rather completely and totally relax during their vacation can take walks on the countryside or go for boat trips on the nearby Lake of Massaciuccoli (5 kms). Here they will also find a small but interesting archaeological site dating back to the Roman age, facilities for bird watching and, last but not least, the house of the renowned musician Giacomo Puccini and the open air theatre which every summer hosts the “Festival Pucciniano”.
The house is situated near the characteristic medieval village Nozzano Castello. In this village an event takes always place in September where people dress up in traditional costumes, dance to music and typical Tuscan meals are prepared. The historic centre of Lucca with its towers and the wall around the city where one can walk on, is very appreciated, also the well-known beaches of the Versilia and the mountains of the Garfagnana.

HOW TO REACH THE HOUSE
To reach the village of Balbano we suggest you the exit of the motorway Lucca Ovest, then path once Viale Einaudi and reached the intersection with Viale Puccini / Via Sarzanese you must turn left, continue until the bridge Ponte San Pietro and follow the directions to Nozzano. Pass the Castle Nozzano continue further until you reach Balbano.
