Our desire to retrace the history of the complex "L'Aia" has led us to discover that the recently restored historic home, named "Spedaletto of Uopini" which was built along the Francigena road, (a bunch of roads that connected already in medieval times, France with Rome), was built by Giovanni Colombini, a cloth merchant who converted to Catholicism and founded the Ingesuati order and was proclaimed blessed and protector of Sienese merchants immediately after his death.

The Bed and Breakfast La Spiga
La Spiga is our Bed and Breakfast: three large rooms resulting from the careful and meticulous renovation of ancient farmhouse, stillinhabited only fifteen years ago by the family of farmers who took care of the olives trees and of the vineyard of the farm. The desire to respect the original characteristics of the dwelling has brought us to equip each room (double, triple and quadruple) of all major modern comforts, to furnish them with Arte Povera style, especially in the common room, once the kitchen of the house, where there is still the original firplace and a beautiful cupboard the along with a long table, around which the family comes together. In all rooms thre is still the original cotto floor.

This apartment, whose name refers to the plant - typical of the area - that was born spontaneously in the flowerbed in front of the little shed, has been constructed in the space once intended for farm animals.

Today, it is a comfortable studio,for one or two people, with a comfortable living room, which leads to separate equipped kitchen area, and a cozy sleeping area, with a double bed near the wide glass window with view on the garden. In the bathroom: shower, bidet, wc, hair dryer, washing machine. The external entrance, with the small balcony is perfect to relax andto dine during the summer.
