From Republic Square starts Mergellina road: it opens in Sannazzaro Square and arrive to the sea inside the Mergellina creek, at the foot of Posillipo hill.

Mergellina is one of the best and the most typical places in Naples: there is the little S.Mary of the Birth'church, ordered by the poet Sannazzaro, whose funeral monument is kept inside the building.

The painting inside the church have an odd combination of sacred and pagan objects, such as Abraham and the Angels near Venus and Mercury and the representation of the Astronomy with the Trivium Arts.
