Opposite a grandiose Fitzroy Town Hall, sits this ever-popular pub where a mish mash of old furniture keeps patrons comfy. The small front bar is a good one for striking a 'one arm on the bar, the other clutching a pot' pose, and the adjacent pool room caters for those wanting a more comfortable seating arrangement with tables. Actually, maybe not so comfortable depending on where you are in there - the cluttered layout makes real the possibility of being nudged in the back by a pool cue. Larger tables and more chairs adorn the dining areas, and there is also seating outdoors, along the side. Service can be slow during quiet times, but the Napier boasts great food, drink and atmosphere.

    Very friendly staff and the place is pretty cosy! They have a great selection of food - they are well known for their kangaroo steaks/fillets!! Sometimes a little hard to get a table on Friday and Saturday nights but overall an amazing pub!

    Very pleasant and historical local hotel in a leafy suburban street which is also a major north-south bike route. Staff friendly and helpful and great range of local and interstate beers. The food is tasty and fresh with good size serves. Definitely worth a visit.

    A great place to hang out for the afternoon. Food is good. Music is good. Stained glass windows are awesome. Gets busy when the work crowd descend and be prepared to share a table and bench seat.

    Honestly the napier is one of the best, if not the best, pub in Melbourne. The beer selection is fantastic and the food is great. The roo parma is a classic as is the bogan burger.
